Happy Holidays from Nallie!

Hello to those of you seeking news about Nate and Allie's wedding—

As I let the hours wind down on the clock at work before my five-day fory to the Midwest, I've decided to actually post something on the wedding blog.

Wednesday, I said goodbye to those of my co-workers who were smart enough not to work the rest of the week and was asked, "so, will you be doing any wedding planning during your break?"

"Hell no," I replied, planning to spend it watching football and basketball instead.

However, I have reconsidered my position. I am now scheduling the following goals to be accomplished by Dec. 27:
-- Ask people what they are looking for in a hotel
-- Schedule appointments to view some possibilities for a hotel
-- Review potential DJs for the party
-- Consider the possibility of not hiring a photographer
-- Check my checklist

And my goal is to do all this while in Iowa. Can I do it? Definitely maybe.

Clinton surpassing Barack among Nallie's wedding party

In a recent poll, Clinton won over Barack among Nallie wedding partiers. Upon further questioning, it was discovered that most of the party thought they were choosing between Clinton Portis and Barack Obama.

After hearing this news Allie commented, "I am happy to hear about the support for the Redskins among my closest friends. But can we discuss the implications of this after the holidays? I've still got presents to buy, wedding plans to make, a princess to kill, and Gilder to blame for it all."

It's official — August 2, 2008 will be the greatest day in history

The wedding/reception site is booked and the party will be happening at Preston Hall in the historic neighborhood of Mount Vernon in Baltimore on Aug. 2.

Here's a photo via the Web:

Although it took us almost six months to get this far, I expect to accomplish much more in the next six months, particularly since college football is about to end.

Because I am bad at things like sending e-mails, calling people, keeping friends, etc., Team Nallie will be posting updates, polls, and perhaps witty musings on this site.

Although I'm awful at keeping up on blogs, my hope is that with the help of Allie and company this will win Blog of the Year by the time Allie and I get hitched. We will then retire.

I think I look enough like these Blog of the Year winners to pull it off.

Reception site, and therefore date, are getting nearer

Allie and I are looking at our third wedding reception site this weekend, at Preston Hall.

So far we have visited Chase Court, which is great but may be a bit small, and the Maryland Historical Society, which Allie likes less than me.

These seem to be the front runners in terms of meeting our goals budget-wise and still be located in Baltimore.

For those of you wondering why we've been engaged for four months and supplied zero information, here's your answer:

We haven't done much. But after a summer of travels I've rededicated myself. Preliminary date is Aug. 2, 2008, but until we book a reception site, that is subject to change.

More to come later.
